Won Hundred Word Wednesdays!

I got a bit behind :)

October 29th: Was it a knock that had woken her?
The darkness was so dense, she couldn’t see anything in her bedroom. The room seemed silent at first, but small noises started to come to the surface of her hearing without the competition of the bigger daytime sounds. Was it a knock that had woken her?  She waited, listening, in the dark. The miniscule tick, tick, tick of the clock seemed closer than it did during the daylight hours. She drifted back off to sleep. She returned to her dream world, where all the people had paused, waiting for her consciousness to return. A gloved hand pushed over her mouth.

November 5th: What do you mean, you lost the lottery ticket?

“What do you mean you lost the lottery ticket?” James in the next room loudly accused his baby sister. Jana was only 18 months old, and merely looked his way briefly with a chin full of drool and went back to playing.
“That was the winner!” He stomped into the room, handed me a small piece of paper he had cut out and drawn a dollar sign on with marker.
     “Want a lottery ticket?”
“Thanks, buddy.” If only our financial problems could be solved so easily!  It would be nice to return to the simple child’s view of the world!

Now for the others!
