Won hundred Word Wednesday

August 12, 2015: The stranger before him looked exactly like the girl he'd dreamt about

The coffee shop wasn’t really his comfort zone. He didn’t usually spend time in places like this. She had wanted to meet in public, and he had let her pick the spot. After all, he was unfamiliar with this city.
He tried not to let his mind wander to that day, when his family had shattered into fragments. Flashes of memory still pushed their way to the front of his mind. His beautiful wife fading from this world, the infant he couldn’t imagine raising with his broken heart.
The stranger before him looked exactly like the girl he’d dreamt about.

  1. I love how you've set the scene. It's really clear why that moment is important to him and makes you wonder what will happen next.
