I received this email today,
"Jenifer,

Congratulations! Your poem has been chosen as one of ten winners of the “Poetry on Canvas 2011 Competition.” There were more than 60 poems entered, so the competition was extremely tight and you should be proud of your talent and achievement. Here is what you need to know:

-- Your poem will now be given to a local artist, who will create their own visual interpretation of your work.

-- The American Fork Arts Council will then pay to have your poem and the painting inspired by your poem framed side-by-side (both inside the same frame).

-- Your poem will be on public display in American Fork during the month of April. Details to be announced.

-- Your poem will also be set to music and become lyrics in a concert to be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 22 at the Historic American Fork City Hall. Composer M. Ryan Taylor will be creating the music for this event, and local professionally trained singers will be featured in the concert. This event will also serve as our Poetry on Canvas 2011 Competition Winners Gala. The event is free and open to the public. If you would be willing to give a reading of your poem at this event, please let me know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your fine creative work. The American Fork Arts Council is excited to offer this opportunity for both poets and painters, and we hope this will become an annual tradition. As you already know, your poem will also be appearing in the literary annual which is being published in April. If you have any questions, please let me know.
